On Friday 21st October, Otamatea High School students took part in the annual running race around the Maungaturoto Country Club walkway. Year 12 student Morgan Bull won the race for the second consecutive year, finishing in a time of 12.45 which was an improvement of 70 seconds on last year which set a new record. Second place went to year 7 student Leo Fenney with a time of 14.04 ahead of third place, year 10 student Dean Sheppard with a time of 14.13.
Year 13 student Natalia Orchard (13 = overall) took out the girl’s race in a time of 17.03. Second place was year 7 student Jaime McCarthny with a time of 17.56 ahead of third place, year 11 student Alicia Moir with a time of 19.12.
187 students finished. The day was perfect with little wind and warm conditions.

The top team winner was the boys football team with 7 members of the team pacing in the top 113 runners.
