The Northland Secondary School Triathlon event was held at Kai Iwi Lakes on Friday 21st February. 16 Otamatea High School students participated in the swim, cycle and run disciplines over the age group distances. The day presented with a hot sunny cloudless sky and a gentle breeze to start with the wind picking up later on which made it quite challenging in the swim.
High lights for the day were:
Trista Comer winning the Senior Girls Individual Girls age group.
Analiese Allen, Chloe Comer and Sophie van Harlingen coming third in the junior girls team race.
All students thoroughly enjoyed the day and were rewarded with a much deserved swim in the lake after the event.
