Thursday 15th June brought fantastic cross country weather with plenty of rain over the past couple of weeks and a cloudy day for the race. The ground conditions were perfect for a wet and muddy race. It was exciting to see the biggest entry numbers for many years. There were no records broken on the day, but the junior boys top two boys came very close with 14 and 20 seconds off the record of 12.44.
The Level one PE class were chief marshals and did a great job of making sure all students knew where to run. A huge thank you to members of the community Stella Clyde, Eileen Parsons and Tony Fawkes who helped marshal on the day.
Thank you to the Otamatea Staff who went above and beyond to help set up/run the morning and tidy up afterwards.
Lastly thank you to all the students who participated making the morning a great success.
The winners and runners up of the event were:
This year’s inter Iwi competition was very clearly won by Whatua.
